unless you're going to automate the settings under each effect and play around with different combinations of solo and global effects within the same track, dblue makes your otherwise good song a shit fight.
i mean, this shit isn't "idm in a can". and it sounds terrible when you randomly throw it into a regular old song like i've heard on some dance radio stations lately. the best usage of dblue is subtle usage. nobody shouldn't be able to tell that you've used it just by listening to it once or twice.
classic example of how not to use dblue: steam machine by daft punk. i totally look up to daft punk and i don't know if it's specifically dblue that they used in that song but the "glitchy" sections in that song sound absolutely tacked on, like they were just an afterthought.
classic example of how you should use it: remix by aphex twin. again not sure if it's specifically dblue but it's implemented smoothly into the track and settings have been played with throughout the track. it's also used seperately on various elements with settings and automation unique to each instance.

Here = front page, by the way.
I'm thinking about this and I don't get why I have the ability to do so. Like, I submitted one crappy flash that got frontpaged like a billion years ago and since then I haven't really done anything noteworthy.
Oh yeah, Robot Dinosaurs music. Except I submitted that around the same time as the flash.
I guess maybe it's one of those things you earn for life because you're cool and you earned it and shit but still, holy hell I can post here next to important people like... I dunno, that guy who makes those cartoons that look better than mine...
ANYWAY look at this TB303 my girlfriend's dad gave to me for no reason and BE JEALOUS:

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you :D
In case you missed it: I submitted a flash and made a bet with a friend that if the submission got blammed he would have to give me 50 dollars. If it didn't then I'd be paying up.
The flash wasn't shockingly bad, but bad enough that it could go either way. He was fairly sure that it would pass and honestly, when I looked at it when it got to 197 votes I was rather worried but NG pulled through for me in the end :)
Thanks again, guys. Apologies to the two guys who fav'd it, you're also awesome :D
Here it is (without music):

cause i gave him a long, tactful review about what exactly i didn't like about his song.
WELL THAT'S WHATCHA GET FOR BEING HONEST! :D
Actually I'm not really mad about it or anything. I think it's funny that he 0'd "Worst Fucking Song Ever", though. If he wanted to piss me off and really get a cold revenge he'd 5 that one and 0 everything else :P
